Brigitte Zakari PsyaD, is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice in Brookline, Massachusetts.  Upon receiving her B.A in Psychology from Boston University, Dr. Zakari traveled to France where she interned at Hospital des Quatres Saisons, Somain near Lille.  There she specialized in the psychoanalytic psychotherapy of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. On her return to Massachusetts, she earned her Masters and Doctor degrees at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis.

Up until January 2012, she was the Director at the Women’s Partial Hospitalization Program at Arbour HRI Hospital, in Brookline, where she specialized in the treatment of patients with severe personality and eating disorders. Throughout her training and career, Dr. Zakari has worked with adults in outpatient psychotherapy clinics as well as with children and adolescents and their families in the Boston Public School System.

In her private practice, she works with patients suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma-related issues, substance abuse, cultural issues, and other significant life stressors. Practicing in three languages, English, French and Turkish, Dr. Zakari strives to help her patients understand themselves and their inner worlds, enriching their lives and assisting them in working through current emotional difficulties.
